Akiva Schaffer is an American singer, rapper, musician, actor, comedian, director, producer, and writer. He is a member of comedy group The Lonely Island, along with Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone. He has directed the films Hot Rod, The Watch (2012), and Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, and co-directed, with Taccone, and co-wrote, with Samberg and Taccone, the film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. He also co-wrote the film Extreme Movie. He co-created and wrote for the show The ‘Bu; and directed episodes of Saturday Night Live, which he also wrote for, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson.

Akiva is the son of Patricia Schaffer and Gerald Shebar. His parents are both Jewish. The surname Shebar is found among Jews in Poland and Romania.

Akiva is married to actress Liz Cackowski, with whom he has two children.
