One Direction's Hiatus is still Just a Hiatus

One Direction fans were stuck in a bit of a lucid dreaming state when they believed that the ugly rumors and unfounded stories about Louis, Harry, Liam, and Niall would stop once their hiatus unofficially began.  Unfortunately, a week – or in most cases even a day – without an untrue headline about One Direction is like waking up in the middle of July expecting a foot of snow outside.  It’s just not going to happen.

The latest headline surrounding the band comes from US Weekly who says a “source” close to the band has let them know their extended hiatus is becoming a permanent split.  We’ve said before how these “sources” are truly never verified people with any positive information to spread nor do these stories ever really end up going anywhere at all, but during a time where nerves are high and fans are clinging to hope and positivity – this wasn’t an ideal way for some fans to be greeted upon signing onto social media today.

The source brings this up alongside information that Liam, Niall, Harry, and Louis did not renew their recording contract.  While these sources are speculating that this means the boys are headed for splitsville, One Direction fans know better, and generally believe that this certainly does mean an end; but an end from a grueling work schedule, a way of living where they couldn’t be honest, and the end of working with a team who worried more about what they could make off the lads than what they could have done if they’d just let the music speak for itself; without the vile headlines and rumors that plagued them for 5 years.

One Direction not signing that same recording contract isn’t a bad thing, nor does it signify the end of the road; it signifies a new beginning – something the lads are more deserving of than we know.

So instead of reading headlines and being afraid, it’s important now more than ever for One Direction fans to stand firm in what they know, what they’ve seen vs what they’ve heard, and to trust in the four boys who could have thrown it all away on March 25th of 2015 – but they weighed their options, they looked at one another, they looked at the fans, and they decided to stay.

Fans owe it to Harry, Louis, Niall, and Liam now more than ever to stay for them too.

While Harry has been most vocal in interviews about their hiatus, he had this to say about their time off (the road).

“All we’ve really said is that we’re just not touring next year and we have done for five years, so I get why saying we’re not doing one feels like it’s a thing, but we’re just gonna take a little break.”

Yes.Don't let the papers or online stuff tell you we're not coming back.. We are , I'm just going on a long holiday https://t.co/iBsM3y52gZ

Thank you so much for everything you have done for us it's been the most amazing five years and there's so much more to come

— Liam (@LiamPayne) August 25, 2015

So One Direction fans, use the next year – or two – to save up some concert ticket money and get your passports ready, because when the boys come back, it’ll be life changing – for everyone!

Since the story broke on January 13th, a rep for One Direction has confirmed to Standard Online that the reports are untrue.

See; Louis, Harry, Niall, and Liam aren’t the lying type.
