An issue I've always struggled with when watching fat characters in films — in particular fat female characters — is that their weight is so often mocked. I have to respectfully disagree with the notion that fans, whether they be hardcore or casual fans, are particularly into the whole Authority storyline. I do agree that the Authority storyline has produced great heels and by default, great faces to stand up and oppose them.
